The most International surf camp for teenagers in Portugal. The Nomad Surf Camp (Lisbon) is located in Costa Caparica Beach.
Nomad Surf Camps proudly pioneered the very first kids and teens surf camp in Portugal back in 1998 !!!
We moved our operation only 100 meters from the beach and only 15 minutes from Lisbon International Airport. It is one of many vacation spots in central Portugal which is noted for its beauty and tourist possibilities.
A privileged location for a teens surf camp near a very long sandy beach with mellow beach breaks perfect for beginners. It’s an idyllic place for the practice and especially learning to Surf during the summer. Our surf summer camp has been hosting teenagerswith ages of 13-17 years old from Russia, Italy, UK, France, Switzerland, Belgium, USA, Canada, Spain, and other countries over the years.
All activities are done in English. Accommodation inshared roomsorganized by gender and ages or full privacy in twin rooms. Big shared bathrooms with separate showers in a hostel that has a swimming pool, big green area, chill WiFi area, surf skate ramp, TV and dining rooms.
There is also an excursion day on every 7 days camp for the city tour, paintball, or any extra activity the group decide to do.

At our kids surf camp in Lisbon, the strong breakfast consists of fruits, orange juice, croissants, toasts, whole grain bread, jams, honey, milk, coffee, chocolate milk, ham, cheese, muesli, and corn flakes.
Lunches and Dinners are varied and include all the necessary nutrition for teenagers this age. A starter or soup, main course, and dessert. Juices and water also included. We cater to Celiacs or Vegetarian teens as well.

Nomad Surfers has been teaching kids to surf since 1998. Our team of qualified instructors ensures that children are supervised at all times — during surf lessons, and activities — always accompanied by our monitors for their safety and well-being.

Our surf camp for teenagers in Portugal
FACILITIES
Nomad Surf Camps has moved its operation in Lisbon to a newly built building on the beach so now our campers can walk 100 metres to the beach for the surf lessons.
The teens are supervised by our staff 24 hours with medical assistance (first aids). The Surf camp entrance is closed during the night and we have a security guard at the camp.
Packages include shared accommodation in rooms of 6 or 8 people. (full privacy in quadruple, triple, twin , and single rooms also available) All our camps are mixed although the bedrooms distribution is by gender.
We encourage the parents to provide some pocket money for vending machine available at the accommodation, supermarket, lunch and dinner on excursion day, ice-creams, souvenirs, drinks or extra activities not included like paintball, etc. They will also need money for the first day as they will only have dinner included and last day when they only have breakfast included.

Surfing Lessons
The kids surf camps in Portugal run for 7 days, although most campers stay 2 or 3 weeks. The day of arrival there is surfing in the evening, The Surf Center is 1 minute walk from the accommodation. All activities are done in English.
Every day there is surf, mostly 2 surf lessons per day, for how long depends on the conditions, our goal is to have at least 4 hours of surf lessons per day. The other activities are focused to enhance your qualities for sport, improve your fitness and above all to have fun and live the Nomad surf summer camp , the best experience of your life!! All material is included, we have a ratio of only 6 teens per instructor!!
For those who dont want to surf with a soft top we do offer “Torq” Fiber glass surf boards. But you will probably be allowed to surf near the other beginner surfers, so you will need to free surf on the side. 5’11 (fish), 6’3, 6’6, 6’8, 6’10’ 7’2, 7’6, 7’8

How are the waves in Caparica?
Costa da Caparica is known to have some of the best beach breaks in the Lisbon region. Its also the home to some of the most prestigious European surf contests. It is protected from the predominant northerly winds so its usually glassier than other Lisbon surf breaks. It is also known to have slightly smaller swell than in places like Guincho or Praia Grande so therefor its perfect for surfers as the swells in Costa da Caparica can be surfable when the west coast is maxing out.

Where exactly is our kids surf camp in Portugal?
LOCATION
Our Nomad Surf Camp for teenagers is in Costa da Caparica Coast, only 20 minutes from Lisbon downtown and Lisbon International Airport. With an extension of 13 km of sandy beaches surrounded by the nature reserves of Costa da Caparica Fossil Cliff and Mêdos National Woods.
Almada also has historic centers and countless places worth to visit, such as the Zagallos Manor House, in Sobreda or the Contemporary Art Centre at Casa da Cerca, in Old Almada, among many other suggestions.
The Kids Surf Camp is only 1 min walking to the beach, restaurants, bakery, and supermarkets.

AIRPORT TRANSFERS
You don’t need to worry about getting to the Lisbon Teens Surf Camp.
We have a staff member at Lisbon Airport all day to welcome the teenagers and accompany them to the camp.
Arrivals & Pick-ups
We offer airport pick-ups from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
– Room check-in is after 4:00 PM.
– If your child arrives before 2:00 PM, you should book the after-hours service which includes feefor supervision and use of the facilities.
You may send your child on any flight, but for the smoothest arrival experience we recommend flights landing between 1:00 PM and 6:00 PM.
Departures & Drop-offs
We provide airport drop-offs from 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM.
– Room check-out is before 10:00 AM.
– Flights should depart no earlier than 9:00 AM.
– If your child needs to leave before 8:00 AM or after 2:00 PM, you should book the after-hours service.
Our staff will accompany teenagers and help them with airport check-in on departure day.
Transfers (Airport, Train, or Bus Station)
You only need to send us your child’s arrival and departure details.
We will organise the transfer from:
– Lisbon International Airport
– Lisbon train station
– Lisbon bus station
If you book the airport transfer with us, you will receive:
– the meeting point at the airport
– the name and phone number of the staff member welcoming your child
Extra fees also apply if the airline requires Unaccompanied Minor (UM) service.
Waiting Time
Your child may arrive at the same time as other teenagers from different flights. Although we always try to minimise delays, waiting times of up to two hours at the airport may occur due to flight delays or traffic.
“In June of 2018, I was lucky enough to find Nomad Surfers online. My son, Adam, was 16 at the time. We live in Santa Fe, New Mexico in the US. He had surfed 1 time in Costa Rica and really wanted an international camp experience. I had never heard of Nomad Surfers, but we took a leap of faith and signed him up! He did the 10 day Algarves, Portugal camp with Nomad Surfers iin 2018 and last summer (2019) he spent 10 days in Lisbon surfing with Nomad. Needless to say, HE LOVED EVERY MINUTE OF IT! Meeting young people from all over the world expanded his awareness and, quite honestly, changed his perception of the world and its opportunities. Thais Almeida was so helpful and made some nervous parents...put your 16 year old on a plane in New Mexico and hope that he lands safely in a surf camp in Portugal... feel secure. Last summer, Adam's phone was stolen in Lisbon on Day 3 and he was going to be spending some time in Barcelona after the Lisbon surf camp with friends from the Algarve 2018 camp (Not bad, huh?). “Hi Nomad Surf Camps, I recently got home from Caparica, Portugal. I really enjoyed my time at the camp and made lots of friends. We all enjoyed the camp so much that we are trying to arrange to go back next year. However, next year I will have turned 18 and as it’s an under 18’s camp I’m unsure as to whether I’ll be able to go. However, if I attended an over 18 camp I believe I would feel uncomfortable as the majority of people there would be adults and I will only be 18. As well as this I noticed that at the under 18’s surf camp I went to there were a couple of 18 year olds. One of the biggest reasons I would want to go back next year is to see the friends I made this year and I would not be able to do that if I went to the over 18’s camp. I really want to see my friends again and want to attend the under 18’s Caparica surf camp next year. Would this be allowed even though I will be 18? Many thanks, Archie”
